| Member Applications can be found here ( PDF or MSword )The Bay State German Shepherd Dog Club Inc. is a non-profit organization originally founded in the early 50's. As outlined in our by-laws: The objective of the club is to promote the breeding of the German Shepherd Dog, to procure the adoption of the Standard of the German Shepherd Dog as approved by the American Kennel Club, By breeders, judges, dog show committees, and others as the recognized Standard by which this breed shall be judged: to protect, advance and improve the interests of the breed, giving and supporting breed and obedience shows, and in general, to aid by every possible means in the demonstration its conspicuous abilities as Companion, War, Red Cross, Police, Herding, and Guide Dog for the Blind.As a member you will gain knowledge about the German Shepherd Dog and everything that concerns them such as: Showing, Obedience, Tracking, Schutzhund, Breeding and Whelping puppies. Our club sponsors various educational seminars and conducts a variety of events such as Matches, Point Shows, Temperament Testing, Canine Good Citizenship Testing, Show & Go Event for obedience training; in addition to our various social get-togethers. There is also an Annual Dinner at which Annual Awards are distributed each October. In addition, as a member of the club you will receive a newsletter which is usually published quarterly to help you keep abreast of current issues and particular achievements of our club members and any other important information that will be valuable to you as a club member. Our Regular Board Meeting are usually held on the first Wednesday of each month at at 7:30 PM. These meetings are open to the general membership and all are cordially invited to attend. The meetings are held at member's homes and include unformatted discussions and an agenda driven business/organizational meeting. They run about 1.5 - 2 hours.
